Discover the benefit of reflexology
Ancient Roots, Timeless Wisdom
Reflexology isn’t new — it’s ancient. Its origins can be traced back over 4,000 years to Ancient Egypt, where a wall painting in the tomb of the physician Ankhmahor (around 2330 BCE) shows people receiving foot and hand treatments much like the ones we use today.
In Ancient China and India, similar practices were also being developed. These traditions understood that our feet are deeply connected to our organs, emotions, and energy systems. They believed that stimulating certain points could encourage healing and rebalance the flow of life force — or energy — throughout the body.
This ancient wisdom still holds true today. Reflexology is a beautiful way to tap into the body’s natural ability to heal, guided by practices that have stood the test of time.
So, What Is Reflexology?
At its heart, reflexology is the art of working with specific pressure points on the feet, hands, or ears that connect to different parts of the body. Think of it as a map — your whole body is reflected in your feet. By applying pressure to certain points, I help shift blockages, release tension, and gently guide your body back into harmony.
In today’s busy world, it’s easy to feel out of sync — like your energy is scattered or your body just isn’t quite flowing right. That’s where reflexology comes in. This gentle, powerful practice is all about helping you return to balance — not just physically, but emotionally and energetically too.
It’s a completely natural therapy, non-invasive, and deeply relaxing. Many people feel lighter, clearer, and more grounded after a session — like a weight’s been lifted. I always get told that they feel like they are walking on air!
How Are the Feet Connected to the Rest of the Body?
In reflexology, the feet are seen as a mirror of the whole body. Every part — from your head and spine, to your organs and limbs — is believed to have a reflex point on the feet.
- Your toes reflect the head and neck area.
- The ball of the foot connects to the chest and upper organs like the heart and lungs.
- The arch relates to the digestive system — stomach, liver, pancreas, and intestines.
- The heel and ankle correspond to the lower back, pelvic area, and sciatic nerve.
Each foot also reflects one side of the body. The right foot connects to the right side (e.g., liver, gallbladder), and the left foot to the left side (e.g., heart, spleen).
By applying pressure to these zones, reflexology encourages energy flow, eases blockages, and stimulates the body’s own healing response — all through the feet!
It’s honestly amazing how much your feet can reveal. Sometimes, tender spots in certain areas can show where your body might be holding tension or in need of support — physically or emotionally.
What Happens in a Session?
After a brief and thorough consultation, you’ll be asked to take off your shoes and socks, get comfy on the treatment couch or chair, and just let go. A rose quartz eye mask will be placed over your eyes and you relax I will gently work through the reflex points on your feet, tuning in to areas that feel out of balance. Sometimes you’ll feel a little tenderness, sometimes you’ll just feel pure bliss.
Each session is unique — your body will guide the way. If need be I will go back to the area to help re-balance the area again.
